Philo: Six Platforms

At Philo, I worked closely with product leaders to prototype each part of the overall experience. We created multiple approaches to features like password-less auth, a simplified asset view, and a simplified package offering. We worked to design solutions that could be delivered on all the platforms we planned to support (and all the billing providers as well).

We eventually supported six platforms (as of 2022), including Roku, FireTV, Android, iOS, tvOS, and web.

The web app became a good “sandbox” for feature development, as we could move more quickly to try out features there.

The early tvOS app experimented with some alternate approaches to tiles and browse.

Through the first 2 years of the product I did all the product and visual design, and some front-end development on web. We also experimented with some web-only social features.
